Torsional ultrasonic dissecting shears for open, laparoscopic and bariatric procedures.
LOTUS uses patented torsional ultrasonic technology: the blade oscillates around its long axis at 36,000 Hz, which BOWA says reduces stray energy at the instrument tip compared with longitudinal ultrasonic devices. The surgeon balances dissection speed and haemostasis through the power level and grip pressure.
Three instruments cover open, laparoscopic and bariatric work, each made of a reusable transducer and a sterile, ready-to-use handpiece. HIGH, LOW and ULTRA LOW power levels can be switched on the handpiece, assembly needs no tools, and newer versions have a 360° rotatable shaft.
