Lojer Scandia Prime: Modular Table for Day and Short-Stay Surgery

Updated 14 October 2026 · 4 min read

The Lojer Scandia Prime is a modular, electromechanical operating table designed with day surgery in mind and manufactured by Lojer Oy. A sliding table top, interchangeable sections and full-length accessory rails make many surgical positions possible on one frame. This overview sets out its published features and specifications and what to consider when choosing a day surgery operating table for a UAE clinic or hospital.

Modular design for varied lists

Scandia Prime is fully modular, with interchangeable sections that can be adapted to the discipline. Combined with a sliding table top and full-length accessory rails, it allows many surgical positions, including flex and reflex.

In practice a modular scandia operating table means that one table can serve gynaecology, urology, ENT, orthopaedic and general day cases, with the sections and accessories changed to suit the list.

Published specifications

The published safe working load is 250 kg, with a maximum lifting capacity of 454 kg. Total length is 2070 mm, the height range is 595 to 1005 mm and the table weighs 200 kg. Trendelenburg is 30 degrees and reverse Trendelenburg 20 degrees, and Trendelenburg is motorised.

The low minimum height of 595 mm helps with seated surgeons and with patient transfer from low trolleys. Read our guide to operating table weight capacity for how to interpret the load figures.

Memory positions and power

Sections can move simultaneously to the zero position or to one of four programmable memory positions, which saves time in a list of similar cases. The table runs on battery power, with a hand control and a backup panel on the column in case the hand control is unavailable.

Agree a charging routine and a place for the charger, and test the backup panel as part of acceptance testing.

Electromechanical drive means that electric motors move the sections directly, without a hydraulic circuit. Buyers often value this for its simple servicing and clean operation, but you should still ask about service intervals and what the technician checks at each visit. Our article on electrohydraulic and electromechanical tables covers the difference in more detail.

Cleaning and infection control

The frame is built to be easy to clean and to avoid fluid retention, and the base cover is a seamless single piece. In a day surgery unit with fast turnaround this can shorten the time between cases.

Ask your infection control team to review the surfaces and the cleaning agents approved by the manufacturer. Record cleaning in the room log.

Day surgery workflow and alternatives

For units that also want to move the patient on the same surface from pre-induction to recovery, a table-trolley may add value: see the overview of the Lojer Rapido. Compare the two concepts on your pathway, and read our overview of mobile and fixed tables.

For a heavy-duty alternative, look at the Grand Promerix. Compare all models from Lojer against your case mix.

Checklist before you specify it

Decide which sections and accessories your lists need: leg supports, arm boards, head rests and pads. Check the side rails, the door widths and the route to the theatre, and plan a charging point for the battery. Ask which cleaning agents are approved for the frame and the base cover.

Request user training for theatre and recovery staff and a technical handover for your biomedical team. Include the table in the preventive maintenance plan and ask for a written list of spare parts held in the UAE, so that a single fault does not stop a day list.

Before you order

Confirm the registration status of the model in the UAE, the section configuration and accessories, and the installation, training and maintenance arrangements. Beckfinity's specialists can prepare a quotation; start from the product page or our contact page.
