Lojer Operating Table Range: Finnish Design for the OR

Updated 14 October 2026 · 4 min read

Lojer operating table products come from a Finnish group with more than a century of experience in hospital and care furniture. This overview explains who Lojer is, how it is connected to Merivaara, and what the range includes: electric, modular and manual operating tables, the electric Mayo instrument table and a stainless steel anaesthetic trolley, all available in the UAE through Beckfinity.

What is Lojer? Lojer Oy and Lojer Group

Lojer Group is a Finnish manufacturer of hospital and care furniture founded in 1919. Together with its subsidiaries it is the leading retailer of physiotherapy equipment and supplies in the Nordic countries. Hospital beds and operating, examination and treatment tables are built at its own factories in Sastamala, Hollola and Kempele.

For hospital buyers the practical meaning is a manufacturer that builds its own furniture, designs operating-room products as a family and supports them through a single organisation. Always confirm the exact model, accessories and documentation with Beckfinity, because configuration options can differ between markets.

In 2019 Lojer took over Merivaara's hospital bed business, and in June 2022 it acquired Merivaara Oy itself. This added operating tables, surgical lights, OR integration and AV systems and medical pendants. These operating-room products continue under the Merivaara brand, with production in Lahti, Finland, and Merivaara operates in more than 120 countries.

The Lojer operating table range

Beckfinity distributes five operating tables from the range, each suited to different needs:

  • Smarter Practico: ergonomic electric table with anti-collision smart movements, a 390 mm slide, 280 kg safe working load in all directions and Li-ion battery operation
  • Grand Promerix: heavy-duty electric table with 275 kg safe working load, suited to bariatric surgery, with a slim base for C-arm access
  • Scandia Prime: modular electric table designed for day surgery, with four programmable memory positions and a 250 kg safe working load
  • Rapido: hydraulic table for pre-induction, transport, operation and recovery, with an 80 mm visco-elastic mattress
  • Practico Manual: semi-modular manual table with a stainless steel top and Euro, UK and US side rails

Design, ergonomics and cleaning

Lojer and Merivaara describe a Design DNA concept of being easy to use, clean and understand. In practice that means hidden castors and an inward cutout for the team's feet on Grand Promerix, bellows designed for easier cleaning, and a seamless one-piece base cover on Scandia Prime. Smarter Practico received a Fennia Prize Honourable Mention in 2020 and carries the Design from Finland mark.

Fluent Lock, the one-click accessory connection on Grand Promerix, is an example of how the design approach reduces set-up time between cases.

These details matter day to day in turnover time and infection control; see our guide to operating table cleaning.

Mayo tables and anaesthetic trolley

Alongside tables, the range includes the electric Mayo instrument table, offered with two worktop sizes (700 × 500 mm and 640 × 400 mm) and a worktop that rotates 45, 90 and 180 degrees in both directions with hands-free foot control. The stainless steel Anaesthetic trolley 650 has six drawers, one lockable, and a side rail for suction bottles, scopes and a blood pressure meter.

Questions to ask before choosing a Lojer table

A short list of questions keeps the selection practical.

  • Which procedures will use the table most, and at what patient weights?
  • Is C-arm or fluoroscopy access needed in every list?
  • Is day-surgery turnover or heavy-duty capacity the priority?
  • What accessories and service support do you need in the UAE?

Choosing a Lojer table and next steps

Match the table to your procedures, patient weights and imaging: choose Grand Promerix for bariatric needs, Scandia Prime or Rapido for day surgery, Smarter Practico for a flexible general OR and Practico Manual where a manual table suits the setting. Our operating table buying guide explains the selection process, and the Lojer brand page lists the full range.
