The Lojer Rapido is an all-in-one hydraulic table for pre-induction, transport, operation and recovery. Its purpose is to speed up patient transfers and operating-room turnaround in day surgery by keeping the patient on one surface. This overview covers the two models, published specifications and the questions to ask when considering a day surgery trolley table for your unit in the UAE.
How a table-trolley changes the day surgery pathway
In a conventional pathway the patient moves from bed to trolley, from trolley to operating table and back again, with a manual transfer each time. A surgical stretcher table such as Rapido reduces the number of transfers because the patient is prepared, transported, operated on and recovered on the same surface.
This can shorten the time the operating room is idle between cases, as the next patient can be prepared outside the theatre. For a safe transfer routine where one is still needed, see our guide to patient transfer.
Measure your own pathway before deciding. Count how many transfers a typical patient has today and how long room turnaround takes, so that you can judge honestly whether a table-trolley will save time in your unit.
Standard and Upper Body models
Rapido comes in two models. Standard is suited to gynaecology and urology. Upper Body is intended for thoracic, ENT and hand and arm procedures. Their lengths are 2050 mm and 2185 mm respectively.
The open design gives good surgical and imaging access, with X-ray cassette rails and quick C-arm access.
Published specifications
The published safe working load is 160 kg. Height is adjusted hydraulically with foot pedals between 650 and 1020 mm. Mattress width is 600 mm, Trendelenburg is minus 25 and reverse Trendelenburg plus 18 degrees, and the table weighs 125 kg.
The lightweight table runs on antistatic twin castors with central locking and carries an 80 mm antistatic visco-elastic mattress. Patient safety rails are provided for transport.
- Safe working load 160 kg
- Hydraulic height 650 to 1020 mm by foot pedals
- Trendelenburg -25 / reverse +18 degrees
- 80 mm visco-elastic mattress, 600 mm wide; weight 125 kg
Who should consider Rapido
Rapido suits day surgery units and clinics with a focused case mix and a patient weight within the 160 kg rating. If you routinely operate on heavier patients or need a full range of electric postures, compare it with the Lojer Scandia Prime or other tables from Lojer.
Because the table is hydraulic rather than electric, there is no battery to charge, but check the range of postures against your procedures.
Think about the recovery phase too: because the same mattress and rails travel with the patient, check that the mattress is comfortable for the expected length of stay and that safety rails can be raised and lowered quickly by one person.
Hydraulic operation: what it means in daily use
Hydraulic height adjustment by foot pedals needs no mains connection and no battery, which simplifies a unit that moves tables between rooms. The trade-off is that postures are set by the operator and cannot be recalled from memory, so training and a consistent set-up routine matter. Ask how often the hydraulic system needs inspection.
Check pedal force and smoothness during a demonstration, and compare the Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg angles with your needs. Our article on the hydraulic operating table gives a wider view of the technology.
Checklist before you specify it
Check door and lift widths, the route from pre-op to theatre and recovery, and storage near the unit. Decide which model is needed for your procedures and which accessories, such as arm supports and leg supports, you require. Ask about cleaning, the mattress material and approved disinfectants.
Request user training and a technical handover, and include the table in the preventive maintenance plan. Ask for a written list of spare parts held in the UAE.
Ordering in the UAE
Confirm the registration status of the model in the UAE and the installation, training and maintenance arrangements. Beckfinity's specialists can prepare a quotation from the product page or our contact page.
