Villa Sistemi Medicali is an Italian manufacturer of diagnostic radiology systems, founded in 1958 and headquartered in Buccinasco. Hospitals and clinics in the Gulf evaluate it for remote-controlled R/F tables, digital radiography rooms and bedside X-ray units. This profile summarises the company and its X-ray portfolio, and lists what to check when specifying Villa equipment in the UAE.
Company profile: Villa Sistemi Medicali, Italy
Villa Sistemi Medicali was founded in 1958 by Alfio Villa and is based in Buccinasco, Italy. The company designs and manufactures diagnostic radiology systems and sells them through an international distribution network.
In 2019 Villa sold its dental division to Acteon Group in order to concentrate entirely on medical radiology. Its range now covers remote-controlled R/F systems, general and digital radiography rooms, mobile X-ray units, mammography with tomosynthesis and surgical C-arms.
Remote-controlled R/F systems: Chronos and Apollo
Chronos is Villa's newest digital remote-controlled R/F system and the winner of the Red Dot Design Award 2026. It has isocentric tilting, an extra-large tabletop accessible from four sides and a low tabletop height for easy transfer from a stretcher. Its AIR (Anatomy on Image Receptor) mode moves tube and detector beyond the tabletop so that exams can be done on patients on stretchers or in wheelchairs, and options include DSA, tomosynthesis and automatic full-leg and full-spine stitching.
Apollo DRF is the established digital remote-controlled table, with a 43 × 43 cm dynamic flat-panel detector for radiography and continuous or pulsed fluoroscopy. The table tilts ±90°, the column ±40°, and the focus-detector distance reaches 180 cm. For rooms with limited space there is the compact Apollo EZ DRF.
Digital radiography rooms and U-arm systems
Moviplan iC DR is a modular DR room with fixed and wireless flat-panel detectors, VDX Next acquisition software with DICOM integration, and either a floor-mounted column or a motorised 5-axis ceiling tubestand. The Tele iC SR chest stand includes a retractable patient support for full-leg and full-spine stitching.
Villa also offers the Armonicus, a compact U-arm DR system for narrow rooms, general, emergency and orthopaedic radiography, with a SID adjustable from 100 to 180 cm and up to 60 APR presets. Our article on X-ray equipment types helps place these systems within the wider market.
Mobile X-ray and the rest of the range
For wards, ICUs and the emergency department the Visitor T30 M-DR and T40 M-DR are motorised, battery-powered digital mobile units with 32 kW or 40 kW generators, a 35 × 43 cm portable flat-panel detector and a 19 inch touchscreen. The Visitor T30 R-DR adds a rotating tube arm for exams parallel to the bed.
Beyond radiography, Villa's portfolio includes mammography with tomosynthesis and surgical C-arms. Pick the product group from the clinical workload, not from the brand name: a high-volume outpatient clinic and a trauma centre need very different configurations.
What to check when specifying Villa equipment in the UAE
Confirm the exact configuration, detector size, generator rating, software options and DICOM services, and ask for the manufacturer's site plan so that the room, shielding and services can be planned. Ask for registration documents, installation and applications training, and a service plan with spare parts.
Think also about lifetime support: availability of spare parts, software updates, remote diagnostics and the number of engineers trained on the platform. You can review the full manufacturer page at Villa manufacturer page and our maintenance services.
Radiation licensing and device registration requirements in the UAE should be confirmed with the relevant authorities. For a quotation or a site review, contact Beckfinity; we supply Villa systems in the UAE.
