ATMOS Strobo 21 LED Stroboscope: Features, Modes and Workflow

Updated 14 October 2026 · 4 min read

The ATMOS Strobo 21 LED is an LED stroboscope for voice and laryngeal diagnostics, combining LED illumination with high-performance electronics for noiseless stroboscopy and sharp, flicker-free images of the vocal folds. It can be integrated into an ENT treatment unit or used on a table. This overview covers the published data, the three operating modes and how the device fits into an ENT documentation workflow.

What the ATMOS Strobo 21 LED does

Stroboscopy makes the very fast vibration of the vocal folds visible by illuminating them in short flashes synchronised to the voice frequency. The Strobo 21 LED determines the fundamental frequency quickly and precisely from the sound picked up by a microphone, and then drives the flashes accordingly.

The device uses long-life LED technology with noiseless operation, so there is no lamp change routine and no fan noise during voice recording. Frequency and sound pressure level are shown on a clear digital display, which helps the clinician check that the patient is phonating within a usable range.

Three modes: slow motion, freeze image and continuous light

The Strobo 21 LED offers slow motion, freeze image and continuous light. Slow motion shows the vibratory cycle as an apparent slow movement. Freeze image holds a given phase of the cycle, and the phase can be shifted from 0° to 400° using the foot controller, so the clinician can step through the cycle. Continuous light is used to view the anatomy.

Foot control of the exposure mode and phase shift keeps both hands free for holding the endoscope and supporting the patient. This is the most practical benefit in daily use, so test the pedal ergonomics during a demonstration.

  • Slow motion, freeze image (phase shift 0° to 400°) and continuous light
  • Foot control of exposure mode and phase shift
  • Digital display of frequency and sound pressure level
  • LED light source and airborne sound microphone included

Technical data

The published figures are a flash frequency of 70 to 1000 Hz, a sound level range of 70 to 125 dB, a power consumption of 30 W and dimensions of 118 × 139 × 280 mm (height, width, depth). The unit is therefore compact enough for a tabletop or for installation in a workstation.

The flash frequency range covers typical speaking and singing voices; if your clinic treats professional voice users, ask the supplier how the range is used in practice and what the documented accuracy is.

Room acoustics matter more than many buyers expect. Because the device derives the flash frequency from the microphone signal, a quiet room, a stable microphone position and a patient who can sustain a steady tone give the most reliable result. Plan the voice room away from noisy corridors and equipment fans.

Integration with the ENT workstation and endoscopes

The unit can be integrated into an ENT treatment unit or used as a tabletop device. Integration saves space and cabling, and is common in clinics with a dedicated voice room. In a combined set-up, the stroboscope is paired with a rigid or flexible endoscope and a camera; see the ENT endoscope system guide for how the chain is assembled.

For a general introduction to the examination, read videostroboscopy explained. For choosing the full set-up, compare it with the checklist in our videostroboscopy equipment guide. The product is shown on the ATMOS Strobo 21 LED page.

Documentation is the other half of the job. Decide in advance how recordings will be named, stored and linked to the patient, and who reviews them, because stroboscopy findings are most useful when they can be compared between visits.

Selection questions for buyers

Ask which scopes and cameras are compatible, how recordings are stored and exported, how the foot pedal is connected, and whether a rigid and a flexible scope can be used with the same device. Ask also about training for doctors and speech therapists, and the local service arrangement.

Confirm registration of the device in the UAE and any facility conditions. Beckfinity can supply the unit with installation and training; contact us for a quote or consultation on a voice diagnostics room.

Frequently asked questions

What flash frequency range does the Strobo 21 LED have?

The published flash frequency is 70 to 1000 Hz.

Is the device a tabletop unit or built in?

Both. It can be integrated into an ENT treatment unit or used as a tabletop device.

What is included?

An LED light source and an airborne sound microphone are included. Confirm the full configuration, including scopes and camera, in your quotation.

How is the phase shifted?

In freeze image mode the phase can be shifted from 0° to 400° via the foot controller.
