Revolve fat grafting system and alternatives: how to compare

Updated 14 October 2026 · 3 min read

A Revolve fat grafting system is one of several branded and technique-based approaches that clinics weigh when equipping for autologous fat transfer, alongside Tulip, Coleman, Tiger and other closed-loop set-ups. Brand names change and product details are best taken from each manufacturer. This article therefore compares approaches on neutral selection criteria and describes only our own pump-based equipment.

Why systems are hard to compare

Fat grafting systems differ in at least four ways: how fat is harvested, how it is collected and washed or filtered, how closed the path is between donor site and syringe, and what consumables are needed per case. Some are technique-driven, like the Coleman approach, which is known for syringe-based aspiration and careful handling, and some are branded closed-loop kits built around a single-use device.

We do not state other manufacturers' specifications or prices. Instead, ask each supplier for the current instructions for use, the list of consumables per case and independent technical documentation, and then compare them on the same sheet. For the basics of the procedure see what is fat grafting.

Closed-loop kits versus open collection

Closed-loop systems are designed so that harvested fat passes from the cannula to a sealed container, limiting exposure to air and handling. Open or semi-open methods use syringes and manual transfer, which give the surgeon tactile control but involve more handling steps.

Questions to ask for any closed system include whether the kit is single-use, whether it works with your suction source, how processing is done within it, what per-case cost it adds and what training is offered. Cost-per-case matters for clinics doing many procedures.

Pump-based harvesting with adjustable vacuum

Pump-based harvesting uses a suction source with a controllable vacuum. NOUVAG Vacuson 60 LP Set combines a suction pump with 70 l/min air flow with a peristaltic infiltration pump of up to 350 ml/min. The vacuum is set manually and shown on an analogue manometer, up to -0.9 bar (675 mmHg), and the lightweight handle serves both power cannula and power infiltration.

NOUVAG LipoSurg combines infiltration and vibration-assisted liposuction in a compact unit with a low-vibration handpiece and 70 l/min air flow. For harvest, adjustable vacuum and low vibration are the features that surgeons usually ask about. Read more in our Vacuson 60 overview.

Criteria checklist for any fat transfer system

Use a common checklist: harvest method and vacuum control, collection and processing path, consumables per case, reprocessing of reusables, training, service and documentation. Include infiltration in your evaluation, because the pump and the cannula work as a system; see tumescent infiltration pumps.

Ask each supplier for a hands-on demonstration, and include the surgeon who will use the system. Experience and technique often matter as much as the device. Our fat grafting systems guide gives a full overview of the equipment.

Making a decision and getting support

Document your decision against the checklist so that procurement and clinical teams agree on it. Verify registration of devices with the UAE authorities and ensure the supplier can provide training and service locally.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Revolve fat grafting system instructions document I can use?

Use the current instructions for use issued by the manufacturer of that system. We do not reproduce other manufacturers' instructions.

What is the Tulip fat grafting system?

It is a branded approach from another manufacturer. Ask that manufacturer for current documentation and compare it using the same checklist.

What does Coleman fat grafting mean?

It is a well-known technique built around syringe-based harvesting and careful handling of fat. It is a technique rather than a single device.

Can pump-based harvesting replace a closed-loop kit?

They are different approaches. A pump gives adjustable vacuum; a closed kit limits handling. Choose based on your surgeons' technique and cost per case.
