The NOUVAG Vacuson 60 is a maintenance-free surgical suction pump with 70 l/min air flow, built for liposuction and general hospital suction. A companion configuration, the Vacuson 60 LP set, adds a peristaltic infiltration pump. This overview covers the data-sheet facts, how the two versions differ from the Vacuson 40, and the practical questions about jars, filters and trolleys.
What the Vacuson 60 offers
According to NOUVAG, the Vacuson 60 is a high-capacity suction pump for hospital use where maximum performance is needed, either as a liposuction suction pump for subcutaneous fat removal or as a universal surgical pump. Suction capacity is 70 l/min (air), and the vacuum is adjustable up to -0.9 bar (675 mmHg).
Electrical and physical data from the sheet: maximum 400 VA at 230 V, dimensions of 360 × 300 × 280 mm and a weight of 12 kg. The pump uses maintenance-free technology with constant suction power, which means no routine pump servicing by the user, although jars, tubing and filters still need regular attention.
- 70 l/min suction capacity (air)
- Adjustable vacuum up to -0.9 bar / 675 mmHg
- Foot-pedal control for hands-free operation
- 2 L and 3 L polysulfone secretion jars, or a disposable-bag system
- Range of mobile trolleys
Vacuson 60 LP set for power-assisted liposuction
The Vacuson 60 LP set combines the same 70 l/min suction pump with a peristaltic infiltration pump delivering up to 350 ml/min. Pump output is controlled by foot pedal and rotary knob, the vacuum is set manually and read on an analogue manometer, and a lightweight handle serves both the power cannula and the power infiltration.
It suits clinics that want one compact device for the whole fat-removal sequence. For tumescent flow rates and tubing hygiene, see our guide to the tumescent infiltration pump.
Vacuson 60 or Vacuson 40?
The Vacuson 40 shares the same platform and housing size but offers 35 l/min and a maximum of 170 VA, and weighs 10 kg. It also handles secretions and subcutaneous liposuction. In practice, the 60 is chosen for larger volumes and for liposuction-heavy practices, while the 40 suits general suction and smaller procedures.
Do not choose on flow rate alone. Match the pump to the cannula diameter, the volumes you aspirate and the number of simultaneous users. Our liposuction machine buying guide gives a fuller selection framework.
Jars, filters and the 4246 filter question
Both pumps work with 2 L or 3 L polysulfone jars and a disposable-bag system. Polysulfone jars can be reprocessed, while the bag system speeds turnover between patients. Hydrophobic bacterial filters protect the pump from aspirated material and should be replaced according to the instructions for use and after any overflow.
Buyers sometimes search for the bacterial filter by article number, for example NOUVAG 4246. The data sheet we hold does not specify which filter fits which pump configuration, so confirm the correct part number and connector size with us before ordering. Never run a pump without its filter and overflow protection.
Installation, trolleys and service in the UAE
The compact footprint fits on a trolley or a shelf in the OR. Several NOUVAG trolleys are available for mobile use; check floor space, power outlets and cable routing for the foot pedal. Ask about commissioning, user training and the local service route for consumables and spare parts through Beckfinity's installation service.
Confirm the device registration status with the relevant UAE authority (MOHAP federally; DHA and DOH license facilities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi), since requirements change.
