MZ Liberec OK07 Medical Pendants: Choosing the Right Model and Service Head

Updated 14 October 2026 · 4 min read

The MZ Liberec OK07 family is a set of ceiling pendants for operating theatres and intensive care units, carrying medical gas outlets, electrical outlets and medical devices. It spans rigid, rotary and height-adjustable models and four types of service head. This page helps you understand the variants and choose the right combination for your OR or ICU, including hybrid rooms with large displays.

The OK07 family at a glance

OK07 is produced by MZ Liberec a.s. in the Czech Republic, a company whose tradition in medical gas distribution goes back to 1957. The family includes a rigid model with axial rotation of the head (OK07-05), rotary models (OK07-16 and OK07-28) and height-adjustable models (OK07-55 and OK07-57). Arm lengths range from 600 to 1000 mm.

That means one product family can cover very different rooms: a simple fixed-position anaesthesia pendant, a rotary pendant that serves several positions, and a height-adjustable pendant for flexible theatres. Using one family across a hospital also helps training and spare parts.

Rigid, rotary or height-adjustable: how to choose

Choose the rigid OK07-05 where the head position is fixed and the equipment does not need to move around the room. Choose rotary models, OK07-16 or OK07-28, where the pendant must serve different positions around the table or bed. Choose the height-adjustable OK07-55 or OK07-57 where users of different heights share the unit or where the head must be raised out of the way.

Compare against ceiling height, other ceiling equipment and the room's workflow. Our guide to rigid and height-adjustable pendants explains the trade-offs in cost, ergonomics and maintenance. For simpler, lower-cost options in recovery or ICU bays, look at PS07 and VK22.

In practice, a general surgical theatre with a stable table position often needs only a rotary pendant at the head end and another on the surgical side, while a multi-purpose room where table and teams change benefits from height-adjustable models with a longer arm.

  • OK07-05: rigid, with axial rotation of the head
  • OK07-16 and OK07-28: rotary models
  • OK07-55 and OK07-57: height-adjustable models
  • Arm length 600-1000 mm

Service heads A, L, Z and H

The service head is chosen to suit the workplace. Horizontal head A is for anaesthesia, vertical head L is for surgery, head Z has a holder for the anaesthesia machine, and the square head H has shelves on all four sides. This is a useful starting point for splitting duties between a head-end and a surgical pendant; see surgical and anaesthesia pendants.

Gas outlets follow national standards, including ČSN, DIN, AFNOR, BS and AGA among others, so specify the standard used by your hospital pipeline. Covers are available in any RAL colour, helping match room design or colour-code functions.

Confirm with your anaesthetists how head Z or H works with your anaesthesia machine and accessories, and check shelf loads. The head type should be approved by the clinical team before ordering.

Large-screen holder and hybrid rooms

A large-screen holder for 32-60 inch displays is available for hybrid and multidisciplinary operating theatres. In rooms with several image sources, such as endoscopy, imaging and monitoring, placing a large display on a pendant arm can free wall space and keep the image in the surgeon's line of sight.

Check the arm and holder load, the effect on balance and the clearance with lights and imaging equipment. For the mechanical side of monitor suspension see surgical monitor ceiling mounts, and coordinate with the video route if the room is integrated.

When a large display is used, consider the cabling too: video and power for the screen must reach the arm without strain, and the route should be planned together with the monitor and integration design.

Specification and next steps

Specify the model, arm length, head type, gas and electrical outlets, accessories and colours. Request the manufacturer's drawing with loads and connection positions and plan the ceiling structure and first-fix accordingly. Confirm the declaration of conformity and the current registration requirements in the UAE.
