MZ Liberec PS07 and VK22 are the straightforward end of the Czech maker's pendant range: a rigid pendant that holds the service head in one position, and a retractable one that moves it vertically at a fixed location. Both are aimed at projects where simple installation and a lower purchase price matter, such as ICU, recovery and small operating rooms. This page explains how they differ and where they fit.
PS07: the rigid pendant
PS07 mounts the service head at a defined point without rotation about its own axis. Its main advantages, as stated by the manufacturer, are straightforward installation and a lower purchase price. It uses the horizontal head A designed for the anaesthetist's workplace, available in 700, 800, 900 or 1000 mm lengths, and the head can be adapted to project requirements.
Aluminium covers can be painted in any RAL colour or foil-wrapped. Sockets and connectors of various makes and standards can be built in, together with medical gas quick couplings, evacuation outlets and drive-gas outlets for surgical tools. Accessories include IV poles, monitor holders and shelves with or without drawers.
VK22: the retractable pendant
VK22 installs the service head at a defined place while allowing it to travel vertically within the required range, with a lift of 300 mm or 500 mm. It takes either a short horizontal head A for the anaesthetist's workplace (700-1000 mm) or a long horizontal head whose length is set to suit the project.
The construction is stable and minimalist, and the aluminium covers can be painted in any RAL colour or foil-wrapped. The head can carry medical gas quick couplings, evacuation and surgical drive outlets and sockets of various standards, along with IV poles, monitor holders and shelves. The lift lets staff lower the head to work and raise it clear of beds, trolleys and cleaning.
Because the lift travels at a fixed location, the sockets, gas couplings and accessories on the head move with it. Check that hoses and cables have enough slack for the full 300 or 500 mm and that nothing can be pinched or stretched.
- PS07: fixed position, head A 700, 800, 900 or 1000 mm
- VK22: vertical lift of 300 or 500 mm
- Covers in any RAL colour or foil
- Gas couplings, sockets, IV poles, monitor holders and shelves
Where fixed-position pendants make sense
Rigid and retractable pendants suit rooms where the bed or table position is fixed and the head does not need to swing across the room: ICU bays, recovery, step-down units and smaller operating rooms with a defined layout. They avoid the cost and complexity of rotary arms and drives, and a simpler mechanism means a simpler maintenance routine.
For emergency and recovery bays see recovery and emergency pendants. For a wider comparison of rigid and motorised options see fixed vs height-adjustable pendants, and for rotary and height-adjustable models see OK07.
A fixed or retractable pendant can also be a sound way to standardise. Using the same head length and outlet layout at every bed means staff always find connections in the same place, which reduces training time and errors.
Limits and what to check
A rigid pendant cannot be repositioned, so the layout must be correct from the start. Walk through the bed positions, staff access and the largest equipment that will pass under the head. For VK22, check the lift range against ceiling height and ensure that the head cannot collide with lights or monitor arms.
Ask for load ratings for shelves and accessories, the outlet schedule, gas standard and electrical specification, and confirm the covers and finishes tolerate your disinfectants. Plan the ceiling structure and first-fix using installation requirements.
Think in advance about how gas and electrical lines run inside the column and are brought to the pendant above the ceiling, so that no finished construction has to be opened later.
Ordering and support
Specify the model, head length, outlets, accessories and colour. Request the manufacturer's drawing, declaration of conformity and test documentation, and confirm current registration requirements in the UAE.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between PS07 and VK22?
PS07 holds the head at a fixed position; VK22 moves it vertically by 300 or 500 mm at a fixed location.
Which head lengths are available?
Head A comes in 700, 800, 900 or 1000 mm, and VK22 can also take a long horizontal head sized to the project.
Why choose a rigid pendant?
Straightforward installation and a lower purchase price, when the head position is fixed.
Can covers be colour matched?
Aluminium covers can be painted in any RAL colour or foil-wrapped.
