The SIMEON Sim.LED 3000 is a compact examination light with 60,000 lx central illuminance and electronic dimming, designed for flexible use in medical examination rooms. It comes in two versions, the 3000 F and the 3000 MC, and the right choice depends on whether your doctors need a variable field or a variable colour. This guide helps clinics decide.
Two versions of one light
The Sim.LED 3000 F offers three light field sizes, while the Sim.LED 3000 MC lets the user choose between three colour temperatures to suit different examination conditions. Both share the compact design, the 60,000 lx central illuminance at 1 m and the electronic dimming.
The data sheet lists colour rendering Ra 95 and LED service life above 50,000 hours. The F version has a colour temperature of 4,700 K, and the MC version offers 3,700, 4,300 and 4,700 K. Field diameter d10 at 1 m is 180, 230 or 250 mm for the F version and 180 mm for the MC.
When to choose the 3000 F
Choose the F version if the examination varies in size: a small field for the ear, nose or throat, a larger one for the skin or a larger anatomical area. Switching the field size lets the doctor concentrate the light where it is needed and reduce glare in the surrounding area, which is also more comfortable for the patient.
It is a good fit for general practice, ENT and dermatology rooms where the doctors move between small and large areas. It is less obviously needed in a room dedicated to one narrow task, where the field size will hardly change.
When to choose the 3000 MC
Choose the MC version if colour perception matters and preferences vary. Some doctors judge skin tone and wounds better in a warmer light, others prefer a neutral white. Three settings (3,700, 4,300 and 4,700 K) allow a quick change without replacing the light. For the background on colour see surgical light colour temperature and CRI.
The MC is a sound option in rooms shared by several doctors, or where dermatology and wound care are important. Colour rendering of Ra 95 supports the assessment of colour in both cases.
Hygiene and daily handling
The 3000 is a compact light and is designed for quick positioning. As with any examination light, the handle is touched at almost every visit, so decide on a cleaning routine, test the cleaning agent on a small area and make sure the staff know how to move the arm without forcing the joints.
Electronic dimming is useful for patient comfort, for example for eye-level work or for children. Make a habit of setting the light back to a standard level at the end of the day so the next doctor starts from a known setting.
Comparing with other SIMEON examination lights
Compare the 3000 with the Sim.LED 350, which has the same 60,000 lx and a fixed 4,500 K, the Sim.LED 250, a lightweight model with eight LEDs, and the stronger Sim.LED 3500+. A wider overview is in our examination light guide.
Do not buy the more flexible version only because it sounds better. Observe how your doctors work, count how often they would change the setting and ask whether the extra control will be used.
Room checks and questions for the supplier
Check the mounting you need and ask whether it is offered for the exact version. Mobile stands in the SIMEON range are available with optional removable batteries, see SIMEON Sim.LED mobile lights. Request the cleaning instructions, the warranty and the spare parts policy.
Beckfinity can supply the Sim.LED 3000 in the UAE and arrange a demonstration of both versions. Contact our specialists for a quote or a consultation.
