Perlove PLX C9100: a mobile DSA C-arm for interventional rooms

Updated 14 October 2026 · 4 min read

The Perlove PLX C9100 is a mobile C-arm designed for vascular and interventional work, offering angiography, digital subtraction angiography (DSA), roadmap, fluoroscopy and radiography on a movable platform. This overview explains what the PLX C9100 does, where it fits in a hospital, which specifications to confirm and how it compares with fixed angiography rooms.

What the PLX C9100 is for

The PLX C9100 targets interventional radiology, vascular surgery, oncology, gastroenterology and orthopaedics. Perlove names applications such as TACE, pacemaker implantation, peripheral arteriography, inferior vena cava filter placement and ERCP.

Because it is mobile, it can serve a hybrid theatre, a procedure room or a smaller hospital that cannot justify a fixed angiography suite. It can also support a larger department as a second unit when the main room is occupied.

Perlove, founded in 2003 in Nanjing, China, builds the PLX range for mobile use; see the Perlove Medical C-arm overview to place the C9100 among its C7100, C1320/1321 and 3D C7600 siblings.

DSA, roadmap and the flat panel

DSA subtracts a pre-contrast mask image from contrast frames to show vessels clearly without overlying bone and soft tissue. Roadmap overlays the vessel map on live fluoroscopy to guide a catheter or wire. The PLX C9100 provides both, together with ordinary fluoroscopy and radiography.

A large dynamic flat panel covers the chest, abdomen or pelvis in one exposure, which reduces the number of acquisitions needed for many peripheral and abdominal studies. As always, ask for the exact detector dimensions and frame rates in the quotation, as the published product description does not list them.

In practice, subtraction quality depends on patient motion, breath-holding and stable positioning, so ask for a live DSA demonstration on a phantom with contrast flow, and have your interventionalist judge the image rather than relying on figures alone.

Injector interface, controller and cooling

The PLX C9100 includes an interface for a high-pressure contrast injector and a tableside controller, so the operator can run the system from the sterile field. Circulating cooling supports extended high-frame-rate fluoroscopy, which matters in long interventional cases where the tube heats quickly.

Check which injector brands the interface supports, how synchronisation works and whether the controller can be draped. Include these points in the tender. For general cooling and maintenance practice see our maintenance and QC guide.

Interventional work also needs a suitable table: radiolucent, with free-floating or motorised movement, and enough room for the arc to pass. Plan the placement of the injector, monitors and the staff positions so that cables do not cross the working area.

PLX C9100 specifications to confirm

The public product description names features rather than a full numeric specification, so ask for the datasheet covering the generator power, tube heat capacity, detector size and pixel pitch, frame rates for DSA, arc free space, weight, power supply and software options. Our guide to reading C-arm specifications shows how to compare these.

Also confirm DICOM connectivity, dose reporting, available protocols for your procedures and whether a table is part of the package. Clarify the training and service model before ordering.

Finally, remember the room. Even a mobile unit used for interventions needs shielding, a suitable power supply and a clear route for the arc. Confirm radiation licensing requirements with the UAE authorities, as described in our regulations overview.

C9100 versus a fixed cath lab

A mobile DSA C-arm cannot replace a full cath lab for complex coronary, structural-heart or high-volume work, but it is well matched to peripheral, oncology and GI interventions. Read our detailed comparison of C-arm versus cath lab and the vascular C-arm article.
